Forum:Style Imitation Tag
From Wackypedia
Okay, I just came up with an idea. Here's how it works: The person who starts finds an article written by them that most fits the style of a particular other user. They link it here and write about its style and why it fits the user they chose. Then, they leave a message on that user's talk page, and that user has to find an article of theirs that fits the style of yet another user, and so on.
Anyone want to start us off? Some WHAT!? (number two) (talk) (contribs) (edit count) 14:15, 18 Octodest 2008 (UTC)
[edit] User styles
Okay, I'll post a rough list of user styles, from what I can gather, in no particular order:
- Testicles. Mildly profane and moderate toilet humour. Crazy situations and epic nonsense taken to the nth degree.
- THE. Surreal, Dadaist but coherent at the same time. Awesome story writer, prone to insanity.
- Seppy. Haven't seen him write for a while, but I'd say he likes reciting jokes.
- Huge Bob. Completely far out, crack-induced ramblings often with a British overtone. Slight irrelevance, awesome illustration powers.
- MetalFLower. Unusual concepts, satire and surreal/dadaism with a generous helping of profanity. Some internet memeology.
- Fonch. Illogic's George Hamburg. Strange poems that make no sense. Also complete insanity.
- DXPenguinman. Epic verbal diarrhoea. A variety of styles, but mainly randomness/surrealism.
- I forgot. The straight man. His articles wouldn't be out of place at Uncyclopedia.
- Asema. He's back! Dunno if he's participating in this but... he's the games expert.
- Hindleyak. Me? Well, I'll take a crack at anything but I know nothing of most American TV shows. I'd probably say 'dry' with mildly humorous situations, often massively British.
No offense to anybody, just a rough guide if this idea were to take off in the future. Also, I know this isn't everybody but hey there's over a hundred users... --

- I don't do textspeak or anything ED-like, or extreme profanity! I'm gonna change mine, hope that's ok. 12:22, 23 Octodest 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I'll start
My article, This is the story of Bob, mirrors to some extent the style of THE. This article, as well as Melville and the Ironing Board and some of THE's other longer articles, involves a person or people completely ignoring an obvious (or at least to the reader) conclusion, sometimes to a ridiculous extent. I think my page Parrot Time!!! mimics the manic style of some of Fonchy's stuff, because it has a lot of manic, random outbursts that somehow form a coherent piece. --THE 20:03, 23 Octodest 2008 (UTC)

- That's the opposite of the instructions (you're supposed to find one of your articles that matches the style of someone else), but okay, let's call it a backwards tag, and proceed on to T3. Some WHAT!? (number two) (talk) (contribs) (edit count) 18:41, 28 Octodest 2008 (UTC)
